The Alternative Hotel Group data centre moves to CMS Group hosting service

One of UK's leading hospitality companies, The Alternative Hotel Group (AHG), has moved its core data centre servers and applications, supporting over 5,000 staff, to an IT hosting service supplied by CMS Group. Over £3M worth of servers (16 Racks), providing IT services to four of the AHG brands - De Vere Venues, De Vere Collection, Village hotels and Greens Health & Fitness, a total of 77 properties across the UK, are now being managed at the CMS hosting site.

Moving to the CMS data centre is the latest in a series of IT initiatives by AHG aimed at maximising the customer and business benefits of IT. Centralisation, company-wide ‘intelligent helpdesk’ IT support and now off-site hosting are enabling AHG to reduce IT overhead costs yet increase systems reliability and flexibility. The CMS hosting service provides constant server monitoring ensuring important centralised booking, property management and Internet services are available 24x7 within a secure, high speed network environment.

The move to the CMS data centre was completed over a weekend without interruption to AHG's business critical, internal and on-line services.
